About Us

David Cowan
With over 30 years experience in the pool industry, David brought his knowledge and expertise to
the Nashville area in the early 90s as General Manager of Foxx Pools and Spas in Hendersonville.
After leaving Foxx, he spent a short time as Vice-President of American Leak Detection of
Greater Nashville and Retail Manager of Precision Pools of Mount Juliet.
In 2004, He and his wife formed their own company, Phoenix Pool & Patio, Inc. and offered the
Tennessee Area experienced service, renovation and new construction, building a massive
customer base of loyal customers. With no advertising and depending on word of mouth and the
referrals of many of his colleagues, his business grew by leaps and bounds.
After the addition of his daughter and son-in-law, a new LLC was formed, Poolkrafters, LLC, and
a retail location was opened. In the Fall of 2018, the retail location was closed. Business was
expanding, but it was impossible to hire more help so it was decided to scale back and close the
retail location. All the same services are still offered by the company.

James Macka
Class and field trained, Jimmy has quickly
become an excellent service technician. His
training has been brought together with his
natural ability to assess a problem and bring it to
its logical conclusion.
Pouring over manuals, taking classes and
traveling the field with his father-in-law, Jimmy
has found himself a sponge for new knowledge.
He has found that he enjoys the service business
and it's lack of routine.
"It's a great part of the business because it is
something new every day and your customers are
happy when you leave and their problem is
solved," he explains.
Part owner of PoolKrafters, Jimmy knows it is to
his and his entire family's advantage for all our
customers to be happy, to feel a value in the
services and products that we provide.
Jimmy grins, "It's comforting to know
daddy-in-law is just a phone call away, too!"
